Presently working with Thomas Johansson and Goetzke, Medvedev has gradually advanced in the recent weeks - culminating in a closely contested competitive win over opponent Moutet.

This marks the player's first championship since the Rome competition and maiden on a hardcourt from March of the previous year.

"This championship is in honour of my younger daughter my daughter, because the maiden victory I achieved when my older daughter my daughter was delivered was for her."

Yet the 29-year-old has made changes in recent weeks, striving to advance forward and compete positively, reinforced by an better serving game.

Medvedev recovered from a break down in the initial set against the difficult opponent, securing 4 of the concluding five games to go ahead.

The pair exchanged break points in the second set before the challenger, bidding for his first professional victory, gained dominance to create a final set.

He defended four early-game chances in a competitive deciding set before the champion won the break to that score to secure the win.

Appropriately, the winner clinched the title with a point at the net area, with the Frenchman unable to manage a return after over two and a half hours.
